Here’s a quick and easy tarot reading to do with Here’s a quick and easy tarot reading to do with the Hermit, which is the Major Arcana tarot card ruled by Virgo. ♍️💜

Follow my simple step-by-step instructions and let me know what wisdom the Hermit reveals for you this Virgo season! 🌟
📣TAROT TIP! If you want a tarot deck with rich 📣TAROT TIP! If you want a tarot deck with rich imagery and detailed scenes on every card, get a Rider Waite Smith deck or close derivative. Otherwise, you may end up with a Marseille style tarot deck that contains very basic pips (numbered Minor Arcana cards) that resemble playing cards.

Of course, if you’re a numerology girlie or think of yourself as channeling your tarot readings and like even more intuitive leeway, the Marseilles style decks might be just what you’re looking for!

And then of course there are Thoth decks. 😵‍💫☺️

Tell me which tarot deck you’re loving to use for readings lately!
I discovered the Dutch brand @sissyboy1982 in Amst I discovered the Dutch brand @sissyboy1982 in Amsterdam just walking through the train station (which is also a shopping mall) to get to the ferry and my oh my I was in heaven. Added gold earrings to bring out the girly bling of the gold buttons and kept it super casual (and heat wave friendly 🥵) with light weight barrel pants that are pretty much my go-to weekend pants now. I designed these Converse myself and paid a bit extra for more cushion and let me tell you it’s worth it. 👌🏼 Obsessed with this @shopclarev bag and just ordered a bigger one (eeeek! 😻🎉) with hopes that it will fit my planner, at which point this writer/professor/Virgo Moon’s life will officially be complete.

What’s your weekend uniform when you’re trying to ditch the sweatpants?
The New Moon phase invites new beginnings and ente The New Moon phase invites new beginnings and entertains the excitement of potential and possibility. So working with New Moon energy often entails clarifying what we want to grow in our own lives and setting new goals and intentions.

To use a different nature metaphor than the moon, we can think of the New Moon phase as the initial planting of a seed, which will be nurtured with sunlight, water, and fertilizer in the “waxing” period so that it blooms into “fullness” and eventually wilts - or wanes - at the end of its life cycle. This cycle can be seen everywhere. No wonder it’s such a natural mirror for our own lives!

So with that, I give you my go-to New Moon tarot spread (AND two others in this week’s tarot newsletter, which is already in your inbox or available at you know where 👉🏼🔗🪪@thetarotprofessor).

In case you can’t read the tarot questions in the tarot spread image above, they are:

🌑 1. An intention for the new moon
🌑 2. How to embody this intention
🌑 3. How this intention can help me grow

We get a new moon this weekend - Aug. 23! But honestly, this tarot spread can be done any time. So make sure to save for future reference! 💖
I am always saying that I don’t read tarot to pr I am always saying that I don’t read tarot to predict the future - I read it to understand the present. And myself.

But don’t take my word for it! Here’s what @marykgreer says in her book Tarot for Your Self:

“Tarot should be approached, not merely as a means for divination, but as a potentially dynamic tool for personal growth and transformation.”

What do you think about that? Do you use tarot as a tool for personal growth and transformation??? Let me know below!

(And if that’s you, stay tuned! 🎙️)
We filled the day with more of Amsterdam’s beaut We filled the day with more of Amsterdam’s beautiful neighborhoods and amazing art, but not shown in this reel is the difficult beginning and ending to the day, which wasn’t appropriate for filming.

We stumbled upon the Holocaust Name Monument in the morning on our way to the @hart.museum and just…wow. Rows and rows of brick walls with a name on each brick was tough enough until I noticed some names of babies the ages of my nephews and lost my shit first thing in the morning. We also ended the day with a tour of the Anne Frank House, which is just staggering. We also went to the Dutch Resistance Museum, which is super cool and also pretty unbelievably unsettling to see in the wake of what is happening in the U.S. as well as G4za.

We are averaging 10-15K steps a day so leg muscles I didn’t even know I had are so sore! 😩💪🏼 Also, I feel like I had written off Rembrandt because he wasn’t modern or edgy or colorful enough for me but the @hartmuseum officially has me OBSESSED. Do not sleep on that museum if you’re in the city. ❣️

Hope you’re enjoying traveling along with me! 💜
