Intuitive dressing by tarot 🔮🧥 I was off to Intuitive dressing by tarot 🔮🧥

I was off to the movies and pulled the 5 of Cups. 😬 This card is super emo and requires lots of emo black so that was an easy outfit foundation.

But then I thought about what specific emotional nurturing this Minor Arcana card calls for, and when we are in a 5 of Cups state, we need to be softer, more compassionate, and more comforting with ourselves than we usually are (if you’re me, at least!). So I opted for really soft and cozy textures, like the @birdies loafers and the @anntaylor vest.

I wasn’t particularly mournful or grieving the day I pulled this tarot card, but I appreciated the slower, softer vibe my intuition guided me toward. Some days call for slicked back, elevated power dressing. And this, my friend, was not one of those days apparently! 🖤🖤🖤

Have you tried dressing by tarot yet? Let me know how it goes!
I've been using the Tarot of Mystical Moments deck I've been using the Tarot of Mystical Moments deck by @catrin_welzstein for my daily tarot card pulls since the start of the year and I just can't tell you how magical and gorgeous this tarot deck is. It lived on my tarot deck wish list from the moment I saw someone share an image of it on here years ago, and when I stumbled upon a used copy in fantastic condition at @bartsbooksojai last year, I pounced!

I always recommend that people start learning to read tarot with the classic Rider Waite Smith deck, or a close derivative, because it just makes everything so much easier and makes everything fall into place much more quickly than trying to learn with an artsy or abstract deck. But the magic of becoming comfortable and fluent with traditional tarot meanings is that you can branch out and start working with any tarot deck you like, and seeing each new artist's depictions and variations on the traditional artwork you now know like the back of your hand just adds so much more magical richness and nuance to the tarot archetypes and meanings. @12thhousewitch, we talked about this a bit when we met up, right!?

Let me know what tarot deck you got maybe a bit later in your journey that opened tarot up for you even more and allowed you to see these familiar cards with brand new eyes! I’d love to see the epic list we come up with. 🤩
✨ New tarot deck? Now what!? If you’ve ✨ New tarot deck? Now what!?

If you’ve ever wondered how to cleanse a new tarot deck, how to bond with your tarot cards, or whether you’re “supposed” to do anything special before your first reading, this post is for you.

A few things I like to do when I add a new tarot deck to my collection:

🃏 Cleanse my tarot deck’s energy
🃏 Break in the new deck by shuffling
🃏 Familiarize myself by reordering all the cards
🃏 Do a simple deck interview tarot spread to see how best I might work with this particular deck

Whether this is your first tarot deck or your fifteenth, a little intention goes a long way toward clearer, more intuitive readings.

If you want the full step-by-step guide (plus multiple cleansing methods and the exact interview spread I use), the complete Substack post is linked you know where! 👉🏼🔗🪪@thetarotprofessor👈🏼

Capricorn Season Tarot Spread ♑️✨ Hap Capricorn Season Tarot Spread ♑️✨

Happy 2026, tarot darlings! Capricorn season is a powerful moment to reconnect with ambition, resilience, and long-term growth, especially if the coming of the new year feels quieter or heavier than you expected. This tarot spread is designed to offer grounded hope, renewed momentum, and clarity about what you’re building next.

We aren't all up for a dramatic reset just because the calendar says it's time for one, am I right? So if you're craving a gentle spark instead, this Capricorn season tarot spread is for you.

Here are the tarot questions, in case you can’t see them clearly in the graphic:

♑️ 1. In what direction is my ambition leading me?
♑️ 2. What accomplishment is just around the corner if I stay the course?
♑️ 3. Where can I practice more resilience right now?
♑️ 4. How does my spirit want to push back or break pattern at this moment?

✨ Save this post and return to it anytime you need encouragement, perspective, or a reminder of what you’re working toward this season.
We often hear tarot readers discussing whether the We often hear tarot readers discussing whether they have studied the foundations of tarot or are purely intuitive readers. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll know that my personal tarot reading philosophy and style is that both are required, along with a few other things that would round out my personal tarot reader’s hierarchy of needs! 📚💘🙋🏻‍♀️🧘🏻🔮

Without traditional study of tarot as a system - the structure and ordering of the cards, numerology, elements reflected in the suits, mythological archetypes of the Majors, we wouldn’t have a solid foundation for our practice to rest on. We’d be making it all up as we went.

But without making room for our intuition, all we’d be doing is regurgitating learned facts from a book with no heart or openness to our inner wisdom or our connection to others and everything around us. Where is the magic in that?

Add to these two an open heart and mind, a simple grounding ritual (3 deep breaths with my eyes closed often do the trick!) and well-worded questions that allow us to go deep, and we are all set for a simple but meaningful tarot practice!

What would be in your tarot reader’s hierarchy of needs? And would the foundation of your pyramid be something different?
DRESS BY TAROT IS BACK! I pulled the Hierophant - DRESS BY TAROT IS BACK!

I pulled the Hierophant - my life path card - as the first card for this tarot series on intuitive dressing so I am taking that as a positive sign. 🪧❣️

The Hierophant is a tarot icon in over the top dress that makes them feel special. To me, that means some kind of brightly colored repeating pattern. I chose this adorable fair isle pattern sweater from @francescas which even has some Hierophant red in it.

The cross pattern is repeated in the Hierophant’s slippers so I picked my most iconic shoes instead of plain Chelsea boots or something. I am OBSESSED with these @charlottestoneshoes boots and even mentioned them in a recent Substack post. 👢👌🏼

And can we talk about the charm bracelet that has a vintage hand charm on it!? Gtfo. 😍

Off to the Academy Museum of Motion Picture finally for the first time. Have you been? Have you ever pulled a tarot card to help you get dressed for the day?
