A clarifier card is an additional tarot card that A clarifier card is an additional tarot card that is drawn to help further explain - or clarify - the meaning of a tarot card you have already drawn in a tarot reading.

There is nothing inherently wrong with drawing a clarifier card. In fact, there are certain tarot cards that I often will draw a clarifier card for!

But if you find yourself frequently pulling a clarifier card, and then just one more, okay and then maybe just one more, now just one final clarifier to be extra super duper sure? That’s getting into less productive territory. Because the reality is that more cards will often REDUCE clarity, which is the exact opposite of what you want.

Here are 3 things I try - in this order - while reading tarot for myself BEFORE resorting to drawing more tarot cards:

1. Meditate on the tarot card.

2. Write in your tarot journal.

3. Look up the meaning in a trusted tarot dictionary and compare it with your interpretation.

Honorable mention: Step away from the tarot reading for a few hours or even days and come back to it with fresh eyes.

The Emperor holds the key to life! Read on 👇🏼

Happy Aries season! Aries, being the leader of the zodiac, fittingly rules the Emperor tarot card. Let’s talk about the Emperor’s scepter, held in his right hand and in the shape of an ankh.

The ankh, a cross with a loop at the top, is also known as the ancient Egyptian “key of life,” and it was an important symbol and talisman that represented everlasting life. Ancient Egyptians believed in a robust life after death, and people were buried in their tombs with ankhs or with this hieroglyphic drawn on their tombs to ensure their everlasting life even after their death in this life.

In modern days, the ankh is worn by many people as a protective amulet or a general good luck charm. But I love that the ankh is in the Emperor’s right hand in this tarot card, meaning it is more a powerful tool than a charm. The right hand is traditionally viewed as the dominant, active hand. The hand of raising power and the hand of wielding.

What is the key to your life? And how will you use it?

The ankh represents life force - drive, energy, passion, motivation - that we must actively yield. The confident, authoritative energy of the Emperor and Aries season reminds us of this truth, especially after the weird, low-energy, Pisces state most of us found ourselves in at the end of the astrological year.

It is time to wake up now and take charge! I’m getting my taxes done this morning which isn’t the most exciting or even necessarily encouraging activity for many of us. (Or even wakeful activity, am I right!?😅). BUT now that I’m thinking about this tarot card, I’m actually loving that it is closing the loop of 2022 in a very real way and setting me up mentally to do some epic visualizing and planning for the year ahead!

What is something you can do today to embrace this Emperor/Aries energy? What will your key unlock today? 👑🗝️✨
Happy Nowruz! (aka Persian New Year to Iranian-bor Happy Nowruz! (aka Persian New Year to Iranian-born people like me) 🌸🌹🌸🌷🌸🌹🌸

Nowruz has its roots in Zoroastrianism and is actually celebrated by many Middle Eastern/Southwest Asian cultures on the Spring Equinox - not just Iranians. It’s a beautiful first day of spring tradition for all.

This tarot spread has seven questions because I designed it around the traditional “haft-sin,” which is Farsi for the “seven things” displayed on a Nowruz altar to welcome the new year. Each thing (some greenery, some sumac, etc.) represents a specific blessing for the new year.

Swipe over for the seven tarot questions to ask for this Nowruz/Spring Equinox tarot spread. And in case you can’t read them in the image: here they are:

1. What is trying to grow?

2. In what can I find strength?

3. A new beginning on the horizon

4. Where can I find love?

5. What requires my patience?

6. In what can I find beauty?

7. How can I maintain my health?

Nowruz Mobarak, friends! 🌸🌹🌸🌷🌸🌹🌸

I try to apply and live tarot as best I can. This I try to apply and live tarot as best I can. This means that when I draw a tarot card like the Nine of Swords, I don’t just say “Yes, I AM feeling worried and anxious. Tarot is so accurate! Spooky!”and move on. It means I figure out why I am drawing the card and what I can practically do to feel better in the real world. Tarot is a beautiful tool for self-care after all!

Swipe for three daily habits or routines we can implement when our tarot readings let us know that our anxiety might be getting the better of us. In case you can’t read the images, they are:

🖤 1. Deep breathing to help us recover from heightened states.

🖤 2. Journaling to help us vent all those swirling thoughts out of our heads.

🖤 3. Unplugging from devices at least an hour before bedtime to help our brains wind down.

What would you add to this list as something that helps ease your 9 of Swords moments???
