If you are just diving into the wonderful world of reading tarot, particularly for yourself as a tool for self-discovery and reconnecting with your intuition, swipe through for 5 essential tarot tips! In case you can’t read them in the images, I’ve summed them up below:

1. Start with the Rider-Waite-Smith or derivative tarot deck. Working with that deck is like working with the answer key, so learning can be much easier!

2. Get to know your tarot deck by studying the cards. Notice patterns, sequences, and how certain tarot cards make you feel.

3. Draw a single tarot card for yourself each day and try to interpret it yourself by describing what you see. Then read the meaning. You’ll be surprised at how close you can get to the traditional tarot card meaning, and this process makes the meanings stick more than rote memorization!

4. Keep a tarot journal to track your tarot reading progress. Review and reflect on older entries and watch your tarot readings improve!

5. Read tarot books and follow helpful tarot accounts (❣️like this one❣️) for more tarot tips and tricks.

BONUS TIP: Join a tarot challenge! 📣 My next 10-day tarot challenge starts 6/26! It’s the Inner Space Tarot Challenge 🚀 and it’ll be open to all of my paid Subst4ck su8scr|bers. DM me if you have questions. If you’re already a pa1d sub$criber, you haven’t a thing to do! Just stay tuned! ⭐️
A clarifier card is an additional tarot card that A clarifier card is an additional tarot card that is drawn to help further explain - or clarify - the meaning of a tarot card you have already drawn in a tarot reading.

There is nothing inherently wrong with drawing a clarifier card. In fact, there are certain tarot cards that I often will draw a clarifier card for!

But if you find yourself frequently pulling a clarifier card, and then just one more, okay and then maybe just one more, now just one final clarifier to be extra super duper sure? That’s getting into less productive territory. Because the reality is that more cards will often REDUCE clarity, which is the exact opposite of what you want.

Here are 3 things I try - in this order - while reading tarot for myself BEFORE resorting to drawing more tarot cards:

1. Meditate on the tarot card.

2. Write in your tarot journal.

3. Look up the meaning in a trusted tarot dictionary and compare it with your interpretation.

Honorable mention: Step away from the tarot reading for a few hours or even days and come back to it with fresh eyes.

How do you use clarifier cards in your practice? Let me know below!
My nephew is a preschool graduate! At his darling, My nephew is a preschool graduate! At his darling, exuberant, barely comprehensible recital, we were told the story of Noah’s Ark over and over again - in song, in dance, in memorized recitations in languages I can safely guess were Armenian and English - by four different preschool classes dressed as animals, angels, and I want to say vegetables carrying umbrellas.

The myth of Noah’s ark - and the countless other flood myths that exist in mythologies around the world - is one of obedience first and foremost. But what strikes me is the unshakeable trust and faith that is required for such obedience.

Noah and the other protagonists of flood myths trusted God and went straight to work. They followed their commands until there was no turning back.

In tarot, this threshold moment is represented by the Chariot.

The positive energy of the 6 of Wands tarot card c The positive energy of the 6 of Wands tarot card can feel particularly elusive when we are feeling self-doubt or imposter syndrome, or doing a little too much comparing (the not so great side of social media, am I right!? 🥸)

So swipe through for some 6 of Wands goodness today. I am all about what certain tarot energy might actually LOOK LIKE in our daily lives, and how we can manifest more of it instead of just sitting back and hoping it randomly shows up for us.

The reason tarot has the power to tap into our unc The reason tarot has the power to tap into our unconscious and activate our intuition is because it’s a SYMBOLIC language.

Images, colors, and symbols speak to us in a way words can’t. In fact, archetypes - although we necessarily describe them in words to be able to express and discuss them - are actually, by definition, based on indefinable and abstract ideas that we FEEL and INSTINCTIVELY RECOGNIZE.

That’s why sometimes we turn over a tarot card and can identify with it or resonate with the picture we are looking at so deeply even if we have trouble articulating the message in words at first. That’s tarot communicating to our unconscious.

We then (at least this seems to be the order for me) turn to our intellect to translate, organize, and communicate the message in a way our conscious mind can understand as well. Studying tarot more traditionally allows the cards to activate this intellectual part of our minds as well, which is why a single image in a tarot card unlocks such a vast treasure trove of information! 🤩
